Jobs working on homes
When Covid sent the world home to work, Americans looked around and came to a near-universal conclusion: Their living spaces needed help. Whether it was the lack of a dedicated office, stained or outdated carpets, or kitchens and baths in need of a remodel, working at home has spurred a national trend of working on homes. That spells opportunity for a wide array of service people, from interior designers to framers, plumbers, electricians and handymen, and women. But where can you find this work? In this, the first of a two-part series, we talk about where to find all types of construction jobs. Next week, we’ll look at options for interior designers and landscapers.
Freelance Driving Jobs
Draiver enlists freelance drivers to move vehicles for car rental companies, auto dealerships, and others. The site can enlist you to drive the car that’s being moved or to drive a so-called chase car. Chase cars take the original driver back to where he or she started.
Theoretically, you get both the stated job price, plus expenses, such as gasoline and tolls. In cases where you’re transporting a car without a chase car, you’re also reimbursed for your transportation back to where you started. Drivers are paid once a week via direct deposit.
However, there is no minimum hourly pay and this site’s terms have multiple red flags. So we suggest that you carefully cherry-pick assignments here and use it only as a supplement to better driving apps such as RideZum, Kango and Alto.
Clinical side hustles
In case you missed this last week, you can earn thousands with clinical side hustles. These involve “volunteering” to test new drugs, skin care products and treatments. The testing facilities need healthy volunteers to see if the treatments are effective and safe. Late-stage trials also examine dosage amounts and side effects.
Why would you volunteer to be a human guinea pig? Among other things, you can earn thousands for a few week’s work.
