Civil Rights Leader Rev. Dr. William Barber, II to Keynote Facing Race: A National Virtual Conference

It is with diligence and a sense of urgency recognizing this moment in our racial justice history, that we announced civil rights leader, the Reverend Doctor William Barber, II will be delivering a keynote address at Facing Race: A National Virtual Conference, November 10-12, 2020. Watch our announcement video.

The Reverend Doctor William Barber, II is recognized as one of the leading voices for racial justice –– and during this historic turning point in our nation’s history, we will look to his experience, guidance, and wisdom, days after what is sure to be a defining presidential election.

Dr. Reverend Barber is the architect of the Moral Mondays protests in North Carolina, which in turn have inspired actions across the nation for a principled public policy agenda centering on the needs of poor people, and people of color.

“History shows us the way forward,” says Rev. Dr. Barber, who is the President and Senior Lecturer of Repairers of the Breach, and the Co-Chair of the Poor People’s Campaign. “When people have come together and taken care of one another as we travel along the way, we have been able to move this country in a moral direction.”
