According to a study by Fisher et al, “States with the lowest levels of mask adherence were most likely to have high COVID-19 rates in the subsequent month, independent of mask policy or demographic factors.” In other words, states where people don’t wear masks have higher rates of covid. So what should you do? “We just want folks to mask up,” said Philadelphia Department of Public Health spokesperson James Garrow. “In general, the more layers or more protection a mask affords the greater the level of protection.” Here are some mistakes people are making in wearing masks that make them less effective.
