Green Bean Fries – for my friend Carol

To be made in your air fryer, or oven.

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 T garlic powder or garlic salt
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • cooking spray

String your beans and snip the ends so they are about the same length. Rinse them thoroughly and put them on a towel to absorb moisture. Put the flour and garlic powder in a plastic bag or on a sheet of wax paper or parchment paper. Beat the eggs in a small bowl. Mix together the cheese and bread crumbs on parchment paper or wax paper. Shake up the beans in the flour, then dip each green bean individually in the egg and coat in the bread crumbs. Set aside and let get a little dry. Cook in the air fryer at 375F for 4-5 minutes and they should be crispy but cooked all the way through. If not, give them additional minutes, 1 minute at a time, until they are cooked to your satisfaction. If you are cooking them in the oven, line your pan with parchment paper and spray it with cooking spray. Shake the pan about halfway through cooking so the underside is on top. Easy.
