Do You Like Mushrooms?

When I buy mushrooms and can’t eat them all at once, sometimes they start getting slimy before I can use them. What to do? First, be sure that the ones you get are not slimy but really fresh. How do you tell? For me, the stem should be firmly attached to the cap, and the mushroom should be an even color and dry feeling in my hands. Then, I store them in the vegetable bin of my refrigerator, wrapped in a paper towel. Some people use a paper bag, but I never have those anymore. I try to use them up within 4-5 days before they start getting slimy because slimy mushrooms are yuck.
