When You are Tired of Life In the COVID Era
God, I wonder why you allowed us To invent cable TV. Five hundred channels of weird sports, Houses I can't afford, violence, Things to buy, more violence and bad news Ad nauseum, 24/7, world without end. Remind me that you've got this. My partner has the TV on all day every day, When he isn't WFH in the living room, I am WFH in my office with music to soothe myself. We are both tired of staying in place and home schooling. Come to me, please. We are blessed. Remind me that this is only temporary. Late at night, when the house is mostly quiet And I can't sleep, shopping by computer is very appealing. Keep me fron finding my credit cards. Remind me that I need only you, Not another salad spinner or forever sharp knife set. Remind me that although we invented 24 hour tv, White privilege, hunger, tear gas and rubber bullets, You led us from slavery to jazz. You blessed us with smiles and flowers. You are still God and you've got this. Amen.
