Today the final Supreme Court decisions of the term were announced. Here are a few highlights of this term’s rulings:
- The court ruled that nearly half of Oklahoma is an Indian reservation in the eyes of the criminal justice system, preventing state authorities from prosecuting offenses there that involve Native Americans.
- The court on Thursday cleared the way for prosecutors in New York to see President Trump’s financial records
- The court ruled that Congress could not, at least for now, see many of the same records
- The court blocked a controversial Louisiana abortion law that critics said would have closed nearly every clinic in the state
- The court ruled that religious schools cannot be excluded from state-backed private school scholarship programs
- The court ruled that federal civil rights law protects gay, lesbian and transgender workers
- The court ruled to give certain employers more leeway to opt-out of paying for birth control
- The court blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
