Which is more important, public worship or worship itself?

Trump has unveiled new guidance classifying houses of worship as “essential services” and insisting that governors allow faith groups to worship despite the risk of furthering the spread of the novel coronavirus.

“Today I’m identifying houses of worship — churches, synagogues, and mosques — as essential places that provide essential services,” he said. My question is: is it the buildings themselves that are important to one’s spiritual life, or is the worship itself more important?

The Rev. Dr. Wm. Louis “LOU” Piel writes, “Judy and I love the church building where we worship. It has a long and important history in the local community. It is very important to both of us not only where we worship God but as a gathering place for our people. At the same time, it may be important but it is not essential to our faith.” Read more HERE.
