As 2021 draws to a close, here are some of Pew Research Center’s most striking research findings from the past year. These 15 findings cover subjects ranging from extreme weather to the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing demographic shifts in the United States. - Republicans view Reagan, Trump as best recent presidents: When asked to name the president who has done the best job over the past 40 years, a majority of Democrats name Barack Obama. Republicans, by contrast, are divided between Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. Among U.S. adults overall, 35% say Obama has done the best job over this period, followed by Reagan, Trump and Clinton.
- Christians, religiously unaffiliated differ on whether most things in society can be divided into good, evil:
- About half of U.S. adults (48%) say that most things in society can be clearly divided into good and evil, while the other half (50%) say that most things in society are too complicated to be categorized this way.
